Join our dynamic team at ManTech International, where innovation meets excellence in the realm of advanced engineering. We are seeking a highly talented Senior Marine Biologist for an immediate full-time position to support the preparation of a variety of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, related resource management, as well as State and Federal permitting documents to join our team remotely. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Communicate with staff scientists and engineers, government personnel, and academic researchers and independently prepare and provide timelines, briefs, and presentations to clients.
- Support environmental planning for ManTech’s Department of Defense customers.
- Provide senior oversight and review of natural resources related documentation, including Endangered Species Act (ESA) consultation packages, preparation of Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) assessments under the Magnuson–Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) permit documentation, Environmental Impact Statements, Overseas Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments (EAs)/Overseas Environmental Assessments (OEAs), Categorical Exclusions (CATEXs), mitigation and monitoring plans, and related special biological studies or technical reports.
- Participate in consultations with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
- Coordinate projects with a multi-disciplinary team and participate in project management for research and compliance documents.
Basic Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in marine biology and a minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant professional experience in natural resource management
- Experience with environmental compliance and permitting for the Department of Defense
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of NEPA requirements.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and consultations for Endangered Species Act and Magnuson–Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act
- Knowledge of federal and state natural resource permit processes and requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to periodically travel.

- Proven experience with time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines.

- Military background and experience
Clearance Requirements:
- Current and Active secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
