GIS Technician I- ICT

Under the supervision of the GIS Manager or designee performs work of implementing, manipulating and maintaining geographic information systems (GIS) capabilities in support of departmental, interdepartmental and interagency goals. Responsibilities are entering, maintaining, and updating County GIS data, preparing digital data and hardcopy maps for distribution to other public and private agencies. Assist in application development and administration. Performs analytics for designated department projects at entry level. Learns the GIS business side of a department(s) in order to provide support and GIS products. Familiarizes with the Countys GIS Data Viewer technology to answer questions and train other users.

Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Cartography, Geography, or in related area, one (1) or more years of related experience with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro 10.x or 11.x and extensions) required. One (1) or more years of related experience working with different GIS vector and raster data formats required. Additional years of formal education in GIS may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required work experience. Cartography skills, examples of work required. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or related software.

SALARY RANGE:     $44,197- $55,192/yr Non-Exempt (D2-E2 Union) https://willcounty.gov/Open-and-Participatory-Government
