Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Theory and Piano Teacher to join our music education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in the ABRSM Music Theory syllabuses and piano tuition, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages and skill levels.
We are looking to create a structure of weekly music theory lessons that are fun, innovative and engaging. The ideal candidate will be someone who has prior experience in teaching music theory or classroom music and is able to bring these skills together to bring a new, fresh music theory pathway to YMS Croydon.
As a Music Theory Teacher, you will create engaging group lessons onsite at YMS Croydon, tailored to individual student needs from beginner to advanced levels. You will work closely with the schools education director to plan and curate the lesson structures to ensure they compliment the onsite curriculums whilst following the ABRSM theory exam requirements.
As a Piano Teacher, you will deliver engaging group and 1-1 lessons onsite at YMS Croydon via the Yamaha Music Education system and courses. All training for the Yamaha curriculums will be compulsory to attend in Milton Keynes on 20th-22nd August 2025.
Dependent on the response to this application, we may consider two individuals to carry out this role. If your strength is music theory or piano tuition, but not both, you are welcome to still apply.
All lessons will be delivered onsite in Croydon CR0 1TF in our purpose built music school on a weekday afternoon.
If you are enthusiastic about sharing your love of music and helping others achieve their musical aspirations, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Music Theory and Piano Teacher.
