Part-Time Business Litigation Attorney

Luther Lanard is a growing franchise law firm with an open position for a Litigation Attorney with at least 5 years of prior business litigation experience. The role will involve extensive writing and negotiation, and if those are your strengths, this is the job for you. You do not need to know franchise law, as the firm will provide training.

We resolve most disputes without having to file a lawsuit or arbitration demand. The role will appeal to someone who wants to work part-time but still manage matters (primarily in the pre-lawsuit stage) and interface with clients and opposing counsel.

We are looking for an attorney who can work at least 70 hours a month and is open to both part-time and full-time candidates. Attorneys also receive origination credit.

Compensation:

$90 - $100 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Independently handle pre-lawsuit dispute matters from start to finish
  • Identify claims and help clients navigate their options
  • Draft demand letters and settlement agreements
  • Handle mediations
  • Effectively confer with franchisors and opposing counsel
  • Set and manage client expectations
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with a State Bar
  • History of being deadline-driven and organized
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Utilize independent problem-solving skills
