Job DescriptionFandango at Home is seeking a Technical Product Manager to help power the backend services behind our ad-supported streaming (AVOD) experience. In this role, youll work closely with engineering, ad sales, analytics, and product teams to deliver platform capabilities that improve ad targeting, enable next-generation ad formats, and support features that drive viewer engagement. Your work will directly influence AVOD monetization, targeting precision, and innovative ad experiences at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and prioritize backend requirements that support AVOD monetization strategies and revenue growth.
- Collaborate with product and frontend teams to ensure backend systems can support engagement initiatives that increase ad opportunities.
- Partner with engineering to enhance server-side ad insertion (SSAI) and enable interactive and next-generation ad formats.
- Analyze AVOD monetization performance (CPM, fill rate, ad completion, interaction rates) and use data insights to inform features and optimizations.
- Work with analytics teams to ensure systems capture key metrics and provide accurate reporting for business stakeholders.
- Support A/B testing of ad formats, placements, and related engagement features to maximize yield while maintaining a quality user experience.
- Ensure backend features and data handling processes comply with privacy and legal regulations, including COPPA, CCPA, VPPA, and California AADC.
- Stay informed on industry trends, ad tech innovations, privacy/security best practices, and evolving interactive ad standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of product management experience, ideally with backend, API, or platform systems in AVOD or streaming video.
- Understanding of ad-supported streaming workflows, including SSAI, targeting services, and interactive ad enablement.
- Proven ability to lead technical products from concept through launch and iteration.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret ad performance metrics and recommend optimizations.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to align business, engineering, and product stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with AVOD products across multiple device platforms (Roku, living room devices, mobile apps, web).
- Knowledge of ad delivery services, yield optimization techniques, and interactive ad standards.
- Skilled in Agile product development using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and data dashboards (Looker, Adobe).
- Self-starter with a high level of ownership, comfortable managing complex initiatives with many moving parts.
- Interest in exploring AI/ML for personalization, targeting, and engagement optimization.
Fully Remote: This role has been designated as fully remote, meaning it is expected to be performed from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, typically an employees residence.#LI-remote
