Associate Director, Business Development (M&A)

We have an opening for an Associate Director, Business Development supporting our Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group.
The Associate Director, Business Development leads and implements strategic business development and client targeting initiatives, as well as oversees the team supporting Paul Hastings Mergers & Acquisitions practice.
In this capacity, the Associate Director, Business Development will:
- Work with practice group leaders, partners, MD and Corporate Business Development Director to develop, implement and execute strategic business development and marketing initiatives/activities for the Mergers & Acquisitions practice;
- Support the Mergers & Acquisitions practices key client efforts and work with stakeholders on the development and execution of meaningful strategic business development and marketing initiatives;
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and work on firm-wide collaboration initiatives;
- Draft and prepare tailored proposals, pitch materials, and strategic communications for the Mergers & Acquisitions practice;
- Drive content-led marketing efforts to support new business generation;
- Guide and support key client targeting initiatives within the Mergers & Acquisitions practice, working closely with partners and competitive intelligence team;
- Monitor legal industry trends and competitive intelligence to identify market opportunities and inform strategy;
- Support client relationship development efforts by promoting best practices and developing high-value services for key clients;
- Plan and execute seminars, events and other targeted marketing initiatives to elevate practice visibility and engagement;
- Oversee and manage business development budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals; and
- Travel as needed to support practice initiatives and participate in client development activities.
Proficiencies:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, document management and CRM systems;
- Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading;
- Strong editing and research skills, along with the ability to turn data into useful deliverables;
- Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firm operations and corporate legal clients to function at a strategic level;
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, procedures, concepts and practical applications;
- Fundamental knowledge of networking and relationship management;
- Fundamental knowledge of legal concepts;
- Proficiency in team building, management and leadership skills; and
- Knowledge of the needs and expectations of law firm operations, partners and clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with an emphasis in marketing, law or business (required);
- At least 12 years of marketing professional experience (preferred);
- At least 5 years of management experience in a corporate law firm setting or relevant industry setting (required); and
- Experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions practice group (required).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $180,000 and a maximum of $262,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
