The Frisco Adventure Park Guest Service Supervisor is a winter seasonal hourly/non-exempt position that works in a high-paced environment with a focus on the oversight of guest experience and events taking place, including but not limited to, the Peninsula Recreation Area grounds and facilities.  This individual is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and supervising guest service Attendants and Leads, as appropriate.  The individual in this position must have a general working knowledge of ski area and Nordic operations, private and public event operations, food and beverage, sales, recreational programs and events, and a familiarity of other recreational amenities.  This individual also assists with department events, programs, and activities.   The Frisco Adventure Park Guest Service Supervisor is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service through phone, online/email, in-person interactions, and ensuring that supporting staff holds the same standards.  This individual utilizes recreation software to make reservations, call and manage ski hill, terrain park, and tubing tickets, pass sales, complete day-to-day POS sales and program/activity registration.  This individual is required to serve as the “Supervisor/Manager on Duty” for the Day Lodge and the daily guests. This position requires responsible cash handling, preparing end of day reports, preparing change orders, and responsible access to safes, will complete retail ordering/inventory management, is knowledgeable of upcoming events, programs, operations, and site and facility conditions. This individual coordinates and communicates in a team environment with other team members and managers to ensure seamless, safe and effective operations.

  • Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, evaluates, supervises and disciplines attendants and leads. 
  • Assists with staff scheduling and payroll/time keeping. 
  • Consistently delivers exceptional guest service by answering repetitive questions, scenarios and tasks with professionalism, politeness and courtesy in-person, on the telephone and via online/email interactions. Assists the guests with tubing, ski& ride hill/terrain park, facility and field, Nordic passes and lessons, and program and event reservations, as appropriate.
  • Educates guests on all safety practices, operating rules and regulations, and enforces these rules. 
  • Acts as the “Supervisor/Manager on Duty” when scheduled or as operations deem necessary.
  • Assists with the implementation, management, and troubleshooting of the recreation software.
  • Verifies all banks, reconciles tills, and creates reports for accounting at close of each day. Also responsible for change orders and utilizing standard operating cash handling procedures to work with cash, checks and credit cards. 
  • Assists with updates for the division website pages and social media content.
  • Keeps records, files, invoices, processes work orders and tracks participation. Prepares and writes reports as appropriate.  May assist with field and facility reservations, rentals, special events, contracts, refunds, invoices, park postings and general park maintenance and upkeep.  
  • Works under budget parameters and expectations.
  • Opens and closes facilities following established standard operating procedures.  Ensures the facilitys interior and exterior are clean, well-maintained and that items are well stocked, displayed, and presentable to guests throughout daily operations.
  • Assists with merchandise selection, purchasing, and inventory control.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding all Recreation Department programs and events, facilities and services and other Town amenities, services and events.  Assists as needed with such events, programs and amenity needs.  Attends meetings as necessary.
  • Works in a team-based environment supporting the Frisco Adventure Park, Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco and all Departments, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.  Effectively communicates with management in a timely and professional manner both verbally and in writing.  
  • Interacts with and maintains professional attitudes and relationships with guests, co-workers, and management in a positive, professional manner at all times using appropriate language 
  • Performs other job duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.

Specific knowledge, skills and abilities needed for position:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Bachelors degree in recreation or related field

Computer Operations:

  • Required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Recreation POS 
  • Preferred: Recreation software experience 

Licenses, Certifications  or Accreditations:

  • Required: Valid Colorado Drivers License with acceptable driving record
  • Required: CPR/First Aid (Provided by the Town within 60 days of hire)

Previous Work Experience:

  •  Required: 2 years of guest service experience
  • Required: 2 years cash handling experience
  • Preferred: 1 year retail operations preferred.

Previous Supervisory Exercised:

  • Preferred: 2 year of supervisory experience in similar work environment

Language Ability:

  • Required: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Decision Making Ability: 

  • Required: Ability to function independently and make sound and reasonable decisions in the absence of supervisory guidance.
