The Opportunity:

The Department of Defense (DoD) is implementing a strategic shift toward fully integrated, multidomain operations (MDO) to maintain decision superiority, operational agility, and technological overmatch in contested environments. To this end, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) contract seeks to advance technologies and modernize capabilities to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration. COBRA provides a broad range of services for the advancement of integrated communications, networking, and SoS technologies within the DoD and its interagency mission partner. These services include advancing relevant technologies and techniques, Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I), cybersecurity, operational integration and analysis, data analytics, and training, wargaming, and exercises.

We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps engineer to join our COBRA team supporting Army Futures Command Maneuver Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (MCDID) at Ft Benning, GA.

This position is contingent upon contract award of the COBRA contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with experiment/exercise support teams and various stakeholders

  • Participate in software and hardware technology development

  • Support development of software demonstrating/testing/ executing advanced concepts developed within the MCDID

  • Analyze mission task completion and achievement of objectives

  • Design, build, and maintain highly stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments

  • Support monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building, packaging, and deployment processes

  • Implement advanced automated infrastructure capabilities including backups, security tools, and monitoring systems

  • Develop consistent DevOps approaches to improve all phases of the development process and ensure end-to-end quality

  • Support deployment/configuration management initiatives using tools like Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible

  • Manage complex version control strategies using GIT, Bitbucket, SVN, or CVS

  • Implement and enforce security protocols and compliance measures

  • Develop sophisticated automation solutions using Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, SQL, or C++

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • At least 7 years of experience in DevOps engineering

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systems

  • Extensive experience with AWS and other cloud services

  • Advanced-level programming and scripting abilities

  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired:

  • Experience with DoD/Army programs

  • Advanced SAFe certification

  • Advance-level containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Advanced infrastructure as code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Security and compliance knowledge

  • Experience with advanced monitoring and observability tools

  • Microservices and distributed systems expertise

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$57,000 - $116,700
