Senior Valve Technician

Trinity Industries is seeking a Senior Valve Technician for the Jonesboro, Arkansas location.  In this role you will be responsible for the assembly of mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment.  You will fit, align, calibrate and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.  You will repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.  You will prepare materials and surfaces for coverage with glue and insulation material.

This position requires the use of manufacturer and Trinity Industries procedures and specifications in the performance of service equipment disassembly, inspection, rebuild and functional testing.  This position conducts visual and measured inspection/tests of service equipment to ensure conformance with standards and requirements.  Additionally, this position completes inspection records and reports and follows appropriate codes and regulations.

What you will need:

Thorough knowledge of reailcar service equipment types and configurations

Ability to instruct others in the use of hand tools, shop aids and test equipment

Ability to identify conflicting technical instructions and procedures

Ability to train others in IMO and Company procedures to perform maintenance, assessment, repair and testing of service equipment

Ability to cross reference gasket applicability/serviceability specifications

Ability to achieve certification in NDE methods such as bubble leak, dye penetrant, visual testing

Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and specifications
