Education Program Coordinator

General Function

The Education Program Coordinator role performs a variety of moderately clerical and complex administrative tasks, which may include assisting students with enrollment, maintaining spreadsheets and program files, interacting with community partners, and other tasks which support the academic areas daily operations. This position will support the Department of Education with administrative and technical tasks as determined by the Associate Dean of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, offering advising on program pathways, available resources, and career opportunities related to their field of study.
  • Collaborate with faculty and student services to identify and address barriers to student success, connecting students with tutoring, counseling, and other support services as needed.
  • Creates and maintains program documents, spreadsheets, and student files as needed by the department.
  • Acts as a liaison with community partners and potential students to assist with enrollment, request and verify information, communicate with various departments within Central Piedmont to remove barriers for students, and connect students with appropriate college resources or staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in enrollment and onboarding sessions to support student registration and orientation to the program.
  • Coordinate and participate in activities, workshops, or sessions that impact potential, current, and former students to provide positive interactions and experiences with the college.
  • Maintains list of potential, current, and former students.
  • Assists instructors with setting up labs, preparing for classes, and maintaining inventory of Department of Education materials as needed.
  • Assists in developing, planning, implementing, and administering projects based on goals and objectives of the department.
  • Provides assistance to immediate supervisor and coordinates activities with other program areas.
  • Ensure all appropriate stakeholders are included, engaged, and informed on projects.
  • Utilize various software to prepare reports and/or special projects.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in navigating program requirements, course selection, and academic planning to ensure timely completion of their educational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
  • 2-4 years relevant work experience
  • Experience working in educational institutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NC teaching license
  • Proficient in oral and written communication in English and Spanish
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong computer technology skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
