GRADE ASTD10 LOCATION OF POSITION 6776 Reisterstown Road Baltimore, MD 21215 POSITION DUTIESThe employee is responsible for the independent operation of fingerprinting duties located at the CJIS Storefront, a CJIS MVA office or off-site at a local government office using portable live scan technology. This includes the opening & closing of the fingerprint operations each day, operation of a computerized live scan fingerprinting unit, collecting associated fees, checking the RAS and CJIS systems and related tasks. The employee may be required to train and/or assist subordinate fingerprint specialists.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience examining, classifying and identifying fingerprints.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in fingerprint identification classification or fingerprint identification specialty codes in the fingerprint identification field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTwo years of experience operating an Idemia (MorphoTrust) or HID Global (Crossmatch) live scan unit in the collection of fingerprints for applicant purposes
Two years of experience utilizing the Repository Administrative System (RAS) and Transaction Controller (TC) system
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS1. Candidates for this classification are subject to a criminal records check before a permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction record may be grounds for rejection of the applicant by the hiring agency.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, must provide a telephone number where they can be reached.
