The PositionResponsible for comprehensive equipment management for R&D within Roche (Scotland). This includes tracking, maintaining, categorizing, and validating equipment, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance, as well as coordinating with equipment owners and ensuring training on relevant processes and tools. Acts as the representative of Roche (Scotland) in the RDS R&D organization. This role may also manage services that take care of parts of the equipment management process.
About the Team
Roche (Scotland) focuses on developing diagnostic solutions for patients through the innovative Cobas Lumira platform. The Systems Development and Integration Chapter connects the entire product lifecycle, from translating needs to integrating and verifying solutions.
Responsibilities

Equipment Inventory Management
Categorize equipment appropriately based on function and usage.
Track equipment movement, deployment, and lifecycle.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all equipment.

Equipment Validation and Maintenance
Ensure all equipment is in safe and operational condition.
Manage equipment repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
Schedule and coordinate routine and preventative maintenance.
Ensure equipment is fully compliant with internal quality policies and external regulatory standards.
Ensure equipment validation according to its category and requirements.

Training and Coordination
Act as a representative of Roche (Scotland) in the RDS R&D organization for equipment management. Coordinate and communicate equipment-related information between departments and organizations.
Ensure users understand and adhere to equipment management procedures and validation requirements.
Provide training on equipment operation, relevant processes (e.g., IRM), and tools.
Coordinate with equipment owners and users.

Managed Services and Tools
Ensure the availability and functionality of all equipment management tools and services.
Manage relationships with external managed service providers for equipment maintenance and support.
Identify and implement necessary tools for equipment management

Reporting
Provide functional support during auditing processes.
Provide regular updates to management on equipment status and related activities.
Prepare and present reports on equipment inventory, maintenance, validation, and utilization.
Qualifications

Skills
Good knowledge in the field of Point of Care measuring systems, especially technical evaluations and measurement methods.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Proficient in inventory management software and tools.
Knowledge of equipment maintenance, repair, and validation procedures.
Ability to manage external service providers.

Experience
Professional experience in the development of diagnostic measuring systems.
Experience in working under a Quality Management System.
Experience in the qualification and validation of laboratory-based systems.
Experience in the creation of regulatory-compliant documents, such as test plans and results reports.
Experience in the application of statistical methods.
Previous experience in equipment management or a related field.
Experience in training and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Experience in representing an organization in cross-functional teams.

Education
Bachelor / Master in science (chemistry, biology, medical technology or similar)
Relevant certifications or technical training preferred.
This role requires on‑site presence at least 50% of the working week.
