As a member of Googles Government Affairs and Public Policy team, youll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. Youll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. Googles Cloud and Technical Infrastructure teams are responsible for the global infrastructure that powers Google, doing everything from designing and building data centers and networks around the world, to designing and manufacturing the servers, AI accelerators, optical switches that comprise our fleet, and developing the infrastructure software which runs on that fleet and underpins all Googles user services and Cloud platforms.

Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the companys engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others views and opinions, and distill and share the companys perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Advise Cloud/Technical Infrastructure teams on public policy issues related to data center and network expansion.
• Support Cloud/Technical Infrastructure teams in operationalizing network strategy.
• Support the Cloud/Technical Infrastructure teams in the development of policy positions, investment strategies and negotiating positions.
• Work with cross-functional colleagues, including across Cloud/Technical Infrastructure Legal, Tax, Product and Go-to-Market, to inform decision making on infrastructure investments.
• Monitor and research current and emerging public policy issues, including to assess how Google should work with like-minded organizations and industries and work with business-area leadership, Legal, Marketing, and PR to develop and launch products.
