Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist We are partnering with a reputable and growing organization in the Raleigh area that is seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about accuracy, process improvement, and vendor relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice entry, 3-way matching (invoice, PO, packing slip), and payment processing
• Coordinate weekly check runs and electronic payments (ACH, wire transfers)
• Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, operations) to ensure timely approvals and accurate coding
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, including W-9s and payment terms
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
• Support process improvement initiatives and help streamline AP workflows

Qualifications:

• 2 years of high-volume AP experience, preferably in a multi-entity or shared services environment
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as JD Edwards, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience with Nexus Payables or similar AP automation tools is a plus
• Familiarity with 1099 processing and vendor compliance preferred
