AI Publishing Operations Manager

The Publishing Division of the Church provides content creation and publishing via the web, email, print, and mobile apps for other internal departments of the Church. We leverage the latest technologies to augment and support this work. As the English Production AI Operations Manager, you will work across teams to help us accelerate the incorporation and adoption of relevant AI technologies into our publishing and production processes. Collaborating with technical, production, and project teams, your goal is to help us adapt and adjust processes and perspectives to derive measurable, tangible benefits from AI. By helping to operationalize AI improvements, you will help us achieve greater reach, quality, cost-efficiency, and speed in our services.

  • Lead AI Integration: Identify and drive implementation of AI technologies across English publishing and production pipelines, including web, email, apps, and print. 
  • Coordinate and Implement: Refine workflows, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure the implementation of English publishing and production AI technologies. Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs and ensure AI solutions address their challenges.
  • Collaborate for Innovation: Work with technical and publishing production teams to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Provide an informed technical perspective and guidance to peers. Represent publishing needs to PSDs AI Lead. 
  • Discover AI Opportunities: Conduct market research and experimentation to find AI applications that align with English publishing and production objectives and processes. Stay updated on AI trends and integrate relevant innovations into division AI strategy.
  • Prioritize AI Projects: Evaluate and recommend AI initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with wider company strategy and goals. Inform PSDs AI Lead of publishing priorities for integration into PSDs overarching AI roadmap. 
  • Deliver Value: Develop measures to ensure enhanced quality, cost-efficiency, and speed. Communicate status, impacts, and developments to stakeholders.
  • Test and Evaluate: Partner with key managers to test and evaluate emerging AI technologies. Recommend decisions on operational and business requirements.
  • Provide Guidelines: Offer best practices for leveraging AI technology in English publishing and production processes. In collaboration with Workflow Managers and others, document technical procedures, system configurations, and application guidelines related to AI for internal use.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate AI vision and implementation progress to stakeholders.
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field; minimum 8 years of work experience in one or more of the following: Web, email, apps, print, and project management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid knowledge of current business processes supporting our English publishing and production pipelines, including web, email, apps, and print.
  • Experience working with and applying AI technology.
  • Proficiency in English. Ability to speak another language is highly desired along with a strong understanding of cultural nuances.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using industry-standard tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and communication ability across all organizational levels.
  • A passion for customer service excellence and innovative problem-solving.

This is a hybrid role that is expected to be in office at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, UT at least once a week. Hybrid schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
