Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company (Versant) comprised of most of NBCUniversals cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job DescriptionThe Analyst of Distribution and Sales Analytics sits within the Data, Insights, and Strategic Analytics team, a group whose charter is to provide actionable insights that enable decision-making across Versants properties. The role will support two Sr. Managers responsible for distribution analytics and forecasting. Areas of focus include analytics for linear networks and digital product carriage deals, preparing and positioning our go-to-market approach, distribution valuation analyses and forecasting spanning linear and streaming, Versants portfolio of FAST channels, and distribution market intelligence to contextualize performance and support our growth.
The ideal candidate is an analytical, strategic, and creative thinker who is passionate about telling stories with data and enthusiastic about the media industry.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data, identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges across our distribution channels.
- Leverage data visualization tools and technologies to present findings in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner for stakeholders at all levels.
- Contribute to thought provoking executive level presentations on the video landscape, informing competitive performance across streaming, linear and FAST.
- Support efforts to evaluate distribution value and help shape Versants positioning in distribution renewals.
- Evaluate impact of distribution, partnerships, or programming changes in collaboration with stakeholders
- Establish relationships with research teams across the company to share insights and maintain a well-rounded view of the media landscape
- Regularly review and report out on earnings reports and financial statements assessing how the companys distribution strategy is evolving in response to market dynamics.
- Track and analyze market shifts, consumer behavior, and competitor strategies to anticipate demand and adjust forecasts accordingly.
- Work with the technology team and Data Products to streamline data collection processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (concentration in Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or related field a plus)
- 2+ years of experience in insights, strategy, analytics, or related functions
- Experience in Nielsen, Comscore, Adobe or other streaming industry measurement sources
- Experience crafting compelling PowerPoint presentations that tell meaningful stories with data.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, adept at multitasking, and comfortable thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience in Tableau or comparable data tools
- Keen eye for visual design and exceptional attention for detail
- Revels in and is energized by white spaces

- Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 (bonus-eligible)
