Job Description - Experimental Process Inspector (332503)

Work Performed:• A very wide variety of inspection operations on experimental parts or componentsfor use in experimental, prototype, or development aircraft only. Components thatare not attached to products currently in production. Inspection of rework can onlybe performed on experimental or prototype parts.• Sets up, Operates, and Interprets quality inspection results from advancedequipment and technology, including but not limited to Coordinate measuringmachines, non-contact metrology equipment, gear measurement machine, surfaceanalyzers and various other advanced integrated systems and makes complexlayouts and setups on surface plates to inspect a variety of part types to closetolerances• Advises and assist engineers or other personnel in the development of newinspection methods resulting in efficient and repeatable set-ups within aninspection environment for use by all levels and capabilities on the equipment.• Performs a variety of inspections to include but not limited to: GD&T (geometricaldimension and tolerances), complex surface plate layout, advanced casesetinterrogation, threaded features, hardness evaluation, linear dimensions, formdimensions and gear tooth geometry.• Works from drawings, 3D models, engineering orders, sketches or verbalinstructions.• Advanced GD&T skills• Works to ensure safe operating conditions, and high standards of housekeeping ofassigned areas.• Effective level of written and verbal skills to sufficiently communicate information.• Works in a cross functional team

Tools & Equipment Used:• Coordinate measuring machines, non-contact metrology equipment, gearmeasurement machine, surface analyzers and various other advanced integratedsystems.• Precision measuring instruments such as but not limited to, optical comparators,Rockwell machines, profilometer, calipers, height gages, micrometers, precisionpins, indicators, gauge blocks, layout instruments and a variety of other precisionand advanced measuring instruments.Experience & Other Requirements:• Five (5) years operating CMM or non-contact metrology equipment, or gearmeasurement machine in the last seven (7) years or any combination of the three.• Inspecting with precsion measuring instruments such as optical comparitors,Rockwell machines, micrometers, dial bore gauges, etc. is highly preferred.• Experience gained at Bell will count toward the required experience and otherrequirements for job bidding purposes.• Until June 30, 2025 upgraded employees will have a thirty day (30) trial period inthe new job classification during which time they must demonstrate their ability tomeet the requirements for the job.Textron is an Equal Opportunity Employer (M/F/D/V)
