KFIs intellectual property (IP) team develops, updates, and innovates work design, work measurement, psychometrics-based assessment, and development solutions at the individual, team, and organization levels, based on scientific research, data analytics and experiential learning.

The Senior Manager, Intellectual Property Development is responsible for translating research outcomes into structured diagnostics and development content underlying Korn Ferry commercial products and solutions. This professional integrates and updates existing IP and develops new one.

The person in this role is expected to contribute to several projects in parallel. This will involve collaboration across multiple groups within KFI, as well as stakeholders in Digital (product managers, UX, developers), and Advisory and Search consultants. Examples of projects might include creating and refining assessment content used for selection, potential identification, coaching and development. It also entails refining items, designing reports, creating science-based interpretation and delivery guides, producing technical manuals, and advancing scalability and automation through IP digital platforms. In addition, the professional in this role conducts quantitative and qualitative research to innovate, evaluate, and refine our assessment and development IP. Our assessment portfolio for individuals includes self-assessments, multi-raters, and consultant-led assessment content, including simulations. Our team and organizational assessments include team multi-raters, engagement surveys, maturity surveys, and enterprise scans.

This person in the role also plays a crucial role in coordinating a team of internal and external editors and designers, ensuring that editing and layout work are accurate, completed on time and to the highest standards. The IP Generalist in this role also leads the inclusive language review of our IP, partnering with specialists to ensure the integrity and inclusivity of our content.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

It is expected that people in this role will:

  • Contribute to a wide variety of scalable Korn Ferry solutions, by writing and/or editing content for IP such as assessment reports, learning and professional development content and products, talent acquisition solutions, and research reports.
    • Requires collaboration with other members of the KFI team, as well as partnering with non-KFI stakeholders, such as product managers, solution architects, development specialists, UX professionals etc.
  • Identify opportunities to further develop/improve existing IP to support a variety of organizational and talent applications.
  • Work with non-KFI colleagues and external KFs vendor (currently Gilmore) regarding the marketing and sale of KFI-created products available via the Korn Ferry Product Store.
  • Manage the team of contract editors and a designer, ensuring projects are assigned appropriately, projects are completed on time, and invoices are paid on a monthly basis.
  • Partner with members of the editing team on the editing of IP produced by the KFI and also other areas of the business, such as Digital, Consulting, etc.
  • Lead the inclusive language review of IP produced by the KFI and provide input and advice on an ongoing basis.
  • Partner with DEI specialists, to ensure integrity of IP produced and guidance provided.
  • Provide support and guidance to KFI colleagues through peer review of IP created, such as articles, reports, assessment content etc.
  • Knowledge management and guidance:
  • Curate and maintain the KFI document library
  • Provide guidance to KFI colleagues regarding standards and requirements for IP creation
  • Provide input based on knowledge of existing and legacy IP.
  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding our IP, responding to questions that come to the KFI from other areas of the business, as well as from colleagues within the KFI.
  • Participate in and contribute to regularly scheduled forums with KFI and KF stakeholders to stay-up-to-date, share information and provide input into project resourcing

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of writing a variety of business and IP materials, such as articles, reports, and content for development tools.
  • Experience of editing a variety of types of written materials, such as articles, reports, and content for development tools
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with talent assessments, selection methodologies, people leadership, talent/leadership development, and career/employee lifecycle, particularly in applied settings.
  • Experience developing and enhancing a variety of talent development and/or assessment content, including reports and simulation-based assessment materials.
  • Broad understanding of the talent management, assessment, and selection industries.
  • Knowledge of new/emerging talent selection, development, assessment or reporting technologies, and innovation, such as gamification, applied neuroscience, avatars, advancements in cognitive ability assessments preferred.
  • Internal or external consulting/professional services experience.
  • High level of adaptability and resilience with the ability to handle change requests and rapid project iterations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation skills using video/AI technologies.
  • Ability to balance big picture thinking with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading remote contractors/team members.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.

EDUCATION 

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in a subject area relevant to the role requirements, e.g., Human Resources, industrial/organizational psychology, sociology, business, education, journalism.
  • Masters degree (or equivalent) in a related field preferred.
