Mid-Level Network Engineer

Responsibilities

We are hiring a Mid-Level Network Engineer in San Diego, CA.

What youll do:

  • In this role, you are responsible for supporting the design, implementation, validation and sustainment of enterprise networks.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and network monitoring tools, and will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure.

Qualifications

What youll need:

  • Education: BS/BA 5 years, or MS/MA 3 years, or PHD 0 years. HS Diploma and 9 years experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience as a Mid-Level Network Engineer deploying new network capabilities and delivering systems engineering artifacts, including Layer 2/3 Network Diagrams, Network Installation Guides.
  • Know how in writing detailed functional systems requirements with measurable “pass” criteria.
  • Experience applying and mitigating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Prior experience providing engineering support in an enterprise setting.
  • Knowledge of configuring Layer 2/3 components, including switches and routers.
  • History of deploying commercial network protocols and performing installations.
  • Experience in the design, research, and development of network solutions.
  • Desgin or deployment experience in multicast networks.
  • Ability to support travel to Navy OCONUS locations for up to 3 weeks at a time.  

Certifications needed:

  • DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II Security Certification, (e.g. Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).
  • DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II Networking Certification, (e.g. qualifying Cisco Certified Network Certification, such as CCNA or CCNP).

Clearance needed:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Virtualization Technologies, including VMware, VirtualBox, or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with VPN Server/Client or IPSEC/GRE tunnels.
  • Experience with networking monitoring tools, including Solarwinds.
  • Experience with SNMPv3 configuration and traps.
  • Bachelors / Masters degree.
  • Linux+, VMware, ITILv3, and PMP Certifications.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
