Part Time Accounting Clerk

Description:

The Kensington Hotel is looking for a detail-oriented, part-time Accounting Clerk with the potential to turn into full time. Position will be primarily Monday thru Wednesday, but may vary based on need. Must have excellent Excel skills!

  • Income audit - verify and reconcile daily transactions from all revenue generating departments. Balance & distribute the Daily Revenue report
  • Communication and training with night audit as needed
  • Post as necessary and invoice all direct bill accounts.
  • Maintains an organized and accurate direct billing file.
  • Catering - reconcile BEOs with billing/process payments
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding billing and completes all requests for receipt copies.
  • Research chargebacks, billing disputes, etc.
  • Assist with month end inventories as needed
  • Maintaining tax exemption certificates
  • Responsible for clerical functions related to the position.
  • Responsible for check control procedures
  • Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
  • Assists other Accounting Personnel when needed
  • Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of related accounting experience with hotel experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting operations to include all aspects such as accounts receivable, daily income audit, etc.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10-key by touch.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
  • Ability to accurately input information into excel
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and Opera
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
