Pharmacy Technician

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the pharmacy operations by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and providing excellent patient service. Your expertise in medical terminology and medication administration will be essential in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Duties

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications.
  • Utilize aseptic technique when preparing IV infusions and other sterile products.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and standards.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Educate patients on proper medication administration methods, including inhalation techniques.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, particularly in a hospital environment, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals.
  • Proficient in medication administration practices and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is a plus but not required.
