Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Residence Life Coordinator is a member of the Student Development Staff at USCB and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Housing and Student Conduct. The Residence Life Coordinator is a live-in position and is specifically responsible for the administration of the entire residential area on campus and the direct supervision of 18-20 student staff who are assigned to that area. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelors degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Experience with StarRez Housing Software, Maxient Judicial Software and Banner preferred. Understanding and working knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, procedures, and practices pertaining to the state of SC and public university is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must possess good knowledge of the overall principles, policies, and general practices of office management. Must be computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. In addition, must be able to learn other software applications as needed. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and able to handle fast paced and intense environment where you will be asked to think critically when solving issues. Excellent customer services skills and a willingness to be proactive in solving student concerns. Job Duties Job Duty Hire, train and supervise the 18-20 Resident Assistant staff members, and 2 Assistant Resident Directors. Facilitate opening and closing of the residence halls. Monitor the condition of the facilities for safety, cleanliness, damage, etc. and assist with management of the facility like room condition reports and work orders. Live-on campus in a furnished apartment and participate in on-call duty rotation with other professional Housing staff. Communicate university and residence hall policies and their rationale. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty | Conduct administrative conduct hearings as needed. Assist students with personal, social, and academic concerns and respond to crisis situations. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Participate in professional on-call rotation. Oversee RA training, RA In-service, and engagement efforts to provide sufficient contact between the Office of Housing & Student Conduct and the residential population.
