Summary

The Development Director (DD) will oversee all aspects of people and project management in the Marketing Content Craft Tech team. In this role, you will coordinate a multidisciplinary team, including technical artists, tech ops specialists, and software engineers, to deliver and continuously improve tools and pipelines for game cinematic content creation. Your leadership will ensure the successful execution of projects that empower our marketing teams to produce world-class cinematic assets.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse technical team focused on cinematic pipeline development and support.

  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery for tools and workflows supporting marketing content creation.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, creative, engineering, and outsourcing partners to ensure formal execution of technical assessments per project, define requirements, set priorities, and balance support resources and capacity between on-demand requests and longer-term projects from the tech roadmap.

  • Manage resource allocation, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to meet project goals and deadlines.

  • Monitor sprint and quarterly plan progress, comprehend and express technical issues, provide regular status reports including metrics and analytics, and communicate variances to relevant stakeholders.

  • Drive process improvements and foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and growth within the team.

  • Ensure clear communication, alignment, and documentation across all project phases and stakeholders.

  • Champion EAs values of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team and broader organization.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience leading medium-sized technical teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.

  • Experience managing projects related to digital content production pipelines, such as video games, films, or VFX.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management software (preferably Jira).

  • Experience with AI tools for productivity and automation.

  • Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholder relationships, setting clear expectations, and reporting production progress status and risks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
