Privacy Associate, Contract role

Primary Function:    

The Privacy Associate key role is to implement Korn Ferrys technology team privacy operations. The Privacy Associate is responsible for managing the Privacy Mailbox and supporting other privacy program initiatives such as the completion of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). This includes responding to and tracking Data Subject Requests (DSRs), managing the Privacy mailbox, handling standard Privacy responses and directing complex requests to legal, IT security, and other teams as needed in a large global organization.

The successful candidate will learn their role on the job as they also become familiar with the Korn Ferrys products/services and systems environment. The Privacy Associate works with other internal Technology teams, as well as Legal, Products, Security, third party vendors, client engagement teams and occasionally clients and auditors. They must be able to take initiative to build and maintain relationships with contacts in these teams located acrossmultiple time zones.

To be successful in the role, the Privacy Associate must be able learn how to complete DSR, Do Not Sell (DNS), and unsubscribe requests in a timely manner. They must also maintain an understanding of Korn Ferrys products and systems as well as privacy and security policies. At times, they will work in an IT business analyst role to assist in identifying areas for improvement with privacy processes and technology. The Privacy Associate must have proficient experience with data analysis in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office products, excel in written and verbal communication, and be thoughtful and measured in their approach.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Manage Data Subject Requests (DSRs)

·       Manage a large group corporate shared mailbox

·       Support, drive and enhance privacy processes using processes, technology, and automation (Artificial Intelligence (AI) a plus)

·       Assist with developing Privacy operations metrics, analytics, and processes

·       Develop deep expertise in our products and technology and how they process personal data

·       Help to continuously improve the firms global privacy program

·       Responsibilities may include other duties, as needed

Supervision:             Reports to and receives direction from the Privacy Director with matrixed reporting to Vice President of Privacy and Korn Ferrys Co-Chief Privacy Officer.

Education:                 

  • Desirable: Four-year bachelors degree
  • Highly Desirable: privacy certification from IAPP or equivalent (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/EU, CIPP/AP, etc.)

Experience:              

  • Desirable: Privacy or compliance in an international setting and highly technical environment
  • 3+ years in a Privacy operations and/or compliance role, or related experience handling international and U.S. data subject rights to completion for a large multinational company.
  • 3+ years of experience managing large shared group mailboxes
  • 3+ years handling complex spreadsheets for metrics and analysis
  • Comfortable leveraging technology around privacy, data security, or policy issues and managing multiple business priorities
  • Current knowledge of global privacy regulations and operations
  • Experience working in the following industries: software as a service technology, consulting, or recruiting.
