This position sits within the Korn Ferry Institute (KFI), a research and innovation center for Korn Ferry focused on illuminating key trends and drivers of human, organizational and societal performance. The role of the Head of Research exists to identify, develop and implement a relevant research agenda that will deliver insights based on data and science to support thought leadership, the development of intellectual property (IP) and client analytics solutions across all Korn Ferry corporate and business areas including marketing, organizational strategy, assessment and succession, leadership and professional development, talent acquisition and reward and benefits.
Leveraging scientific research, proprietary and external data, advanced analytics approaches (e.g., AI-ML), and external partnerships, the Head of Research will work with internal researchers and data scientists to investigate and develop new, differentiated insights that solve client issues and help them thrive in the network economy.
The Head of Research will report to the KFI President and lead global projects in collaboration with other KFI professionals from diverse disciplines, including economy; technology; business; industrial, organizational, quantitative, and educational psychology; sociology; neuroscience; and data science.
The professional in this role will ideate, develop, perform, and align research initiatives and results with Korn Ferry strategic priorities, helping clients with their digital transformation, data analytics, business and organizational strategies and execution, sales effectiveness, recruitment and development, rewards and overall business and organizational performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Research will be responsible for shaping and executing KFIs research agenda in collaboration with colleagues to develop core and innovative content appropriate for client solutions and digital platforms and that enable performance and revenue growth.
The Korn Ferry Institute (KFI) is a highly agile, connected organization that conducts a variety of projects at any one time, many of which are strategic and of high priority. It is expected that the person in this role will be one of the senior members of KFI who will sponsor, guide, and support several complex projects at one time. This will involve leadership, collaboration and delivery across research, communication, data analytics, IP, and measurement areas at KFI, and relationship management with multiple stakeholders at Korn Ferry and beyond.
The Head of Research will:
- Be a thought leader at the forefront of contemporary research in organizational and human performance.
- Shape the research agenda, based on market trends and Korn Ferrys current and future
- Lead research projects to design and develop new and innovative thought leadership, distinctive science-based point of views, provide inputs into our IP and analytics initiatives, and contribute to our publications. Examples of research include identifying the drivers of individual and collective transformation to grow and perform in the digital economy or finding what motivates leaders to adopt and implement effective sustainability strategies.
- Sponsor and lead the publication of research findings that can be communicated to clients for business development purposes, and translated into tools, products and solutions that can be sold to clients. Recent KFI publications are available at kornferry.com.
- Manage relationships with senior Korn Ferry partners and executives to capture and meet their research, IP and analytics needs.
- Represent KFI externally, with clients and within Korn Ferry. Broadly disseminate research findings and enable colleagues and clients to use Steer and deliver external business development presentations and keynote speaking events and engage in research-based conversations at a senior level across KF and clients globally.
- Collaborate closely with other KFI leaders, experts, and data scientists focused on innovation, new IP, and client analytics.
- Ensure that Korn Ferry maintains best-in-class research principles and practices, keeping up with and deploying agile and integrated data and analytical research capabilities.
- Coach and develop researchers and other KFI colleagues to conduct and convert in-depth research into actionable insights, communications, applications, and solutions.
- Strengthen and activate a Korn Ferry network of research partners for joint research and development and publications, and possibly solutions development. Partners include Universities, Think Tanks, Institutes, and corporate clients.
- Stay up to date with innovation, new market trends, AI, disruptive technologies, and science, particularly with regards to research practices and business, organizational and human performance.

Experience and Skills:
- Leadership of research agenda and Successful management of Master and PhD level talents.
- Ability to define and deliver complex and insightful research projects, including projects with high volumes of structured and unstructured Ability to integrate data, insights, and information from multiple sources.
- Ability to synthesize complex issues into high impact research material, thought leadership, and scalable
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation
- Business experience, with a proven understanding of strategy, planning and budgeting for research and development. Experience with business outcome / performance studies or other methods to demonstrate impact.
- A solid understanding of and passion for data science, data management, and AI-
- Demonstrated interest in people-science and ideally knowledge of psychometric
- Professional services, consulting, and advisory Research in applied settings.
- An interest in or experience of decentralized platforms and the networked economy (e.g., blockchain).
- Management of productive relationships with Universities and Think
EDUCATION
- PhD or/and masters degree in engineering, economics, management, industrial / organizational psychology, sociology, business, education, research, psychometrics, and/or measurement or related
